Today, we remember with heavy hearts our dear friend and colleague, Ronald Vickruck, who passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Ron was a true original—calm, steady, and kind. He brought a quiet strength and dry sense of humour to every situation, along with a deep professionalism that earned him the respect and trust of everyone he worked with.

Throughout his years at Westcoast, Ron was more than a valued team member, he was a mentor and a friend. He had a gift for sharing knowledge freely and helping others navigate both their professional and personal paths with honesty and care. Many of us still carry lessons he taught—about work, about people, and about life.

Every morning Ron greeted his teammates with a smile, a pat on the back, or a clap on the shoulder for a job well done. He made others feel seen and appreciated. His pride in his work and his team never wavered, even in his final days, when he delighted in wearing his Westcoast Moulding vest in the hospital, knowing it would bring a smile to a friend’s face.

Ron’s legacy lives on in the people he mentored and the many friendships he built across the construction industry. He’ll be remembered as a man of integrity, generosity, and heart — a true professional and an even better human being.

We invite everyone who knew Ron to share their stories and memories. He would have loved that.

We’ll miss you, Ron. Thank you for everything.

In memory of Ron please donate to a cancer charity close to your heart or join us and donate to the oncology unit at Ridge Meadows Hospital. For the past 4 years we’ve supported their annual golf fundraiser in which Ronald was always an enthusiastic participant.
